These days I'm not as physically active as I used to be (or as I'd like to be). I am constantly trying to balance running AGJ with having time for a personal life. Working out seems to be low man on the totem pole. But watching the US Women win a repeat gold medal in London yesterday makes me nostalgic for my days as an athlete. In high school I was a rower with an amazing group of ladies at ZLAC Rowing club. In my college days, I was a coxswain for the UCLA Men's team. Watching Team USA row so perfectly together makes me long to be on the water again. There is something to be said for waking up before sunrise and physically exerting yourself that really unites people.
Carrying on with tradition, the ladies tossed the coxswain into the water after their win. Miss those days...
